Bold claim: a historic Norfolk gem is about to shine on a national stage, inviting viewers to judge every guest stay and every hostly detail. And yes, Holly Lodge in Thursford is set to feature on Channel 4’s Four in a Bed, where B&B owners visit and rate each other’s properties.
This 18th-century guesthouse, part of the Thursford site since 2019, will anchor an entire week of the competition, with the episode slated for March 4 at 5pm.
Elizabeth Goode, the bookings and reservations manager at Holly Lodge, who appears alongside manager Barbara Cushing, described the experience as both daunting and exhilarating. She noted that the show offered a platform to showcase the bed and breakfast to a broader audience while also providing opportunities to learn from peers in hospitality. “We had a great time,” she said.
Filming took place over two weeks in April 2025, during which the Holly Lodge team visited and stayed at rival B&Bs across the country.
Barbara Cushing added, “When Four in a Bed called, we jumped at the chance. It’s been a real treat to travel around and experience other B&Bs, and a privilege to welcome the other competitors here to Thursford. You’ll have to watch the series to see how we’ve done. It’s a special set of episodes in this long-running, beloved show.”
Holly Lodge currently features three guest rooms, including a bridal suite, and is complemented by three cottages and a shepherd’s hut on the property. The guesthouse has earned a consistent five-star AA rating for two consecutive years and is a finalist in the 2026 Suffolk & Norfolk Tourism Awards in the Guesthouse and B&B of the Year category.
Four in a Bed has produced more than 1,000 episodes since its 2010 debut. Each episode will air at 5pm daily next week, with the winner announced on March 6.
