Dylan Ross is on a mission to crack the major league bullpen in 2026. After a stellar 2025 season in the minors, he's now on the radar at Amazin’ Avenue, ranked 18th on their list of the team's top 25 prospects. But it wasn't always smooth sailing for this 25-year-old right-handed pitcher. The Mets drafted him in the 13th round in 2022, despite knowing he was injured at the time. A long recovery journey delayed his professional debut until 2024, and even then, it was a brief one-inning appearance. Fast forward to 2025, and Ross finally got his chance to pitch a full season. He started in High-A Brooklyn, moved up to Double-A Binghamton in May, and then to Triple-A Syracuse in June. In total, he threw 54.0 innings with a 2.17 ERA over 49 appearances, showcasing a 35.7% strikeout rate and a 14.7% walk rate. While his walk rate might be a concern, it's not impossible for a reliever to excel despite a poor walk rate. However, projection systems at FanGraphs suggest he might be looking at an ERA of four in thirty-something innings at the major league level this year. Will Ross be able to make the jump to the big leagues and become an effective reliever? Only time will tell.
